Establishing a Delivery Date

delThe moving industry uses a schedule called a Transit Time Guide to establish your delivery date. This schedule is based on the weight of your shipment and the distance your shipment will be traveling. A move from Toronto to Vancouver will have a longer transit time than a move from Trail to Vancouver.

The Transit Time Guide schedule is based on the minimum to the maximum number of days it will take to get your shipment to destination. This is called a delivery spread. For example, if your shipment loads on the 31st of the month your delivery spread might be from the 3rd to the 6th of the next month, depending on the weight of your shipment and your destination.

Once your Moving Consultant has determined the weight and distance of your shipment, they will advise you of the delivery spread using the Transit Time Guide. This will assist in determining when your shipment should be loaded in order to meet your requested delivery date.
